Adele Could Face £1000 Fine For Not Registering Her Son's Birth

PA

New mum Adele has reportedly failed to register her baby son's birth within the legal deadline of 42 days.

The singer could now theoretically face a fine of £1000 for not making an appointment to formalise her son's arrival and collect his birth certificate.

The baby - whose name has not been revealed - was born on October 19 to first-time mum Adele and her fiancé Simon Konecki.

An unnamed source told The Sun that despite going over the deadline, 'cops are hardly going to be banging on their door tomorrow'.

"It's probably just an oversight on their part," the mole said. "Most parents register their baby within a couple of weeks because it's a nice thing to do – and because there's a maximum fine of £1,000 if they don't. There are loads of reasons why parents are late and millions of couples don't bother for ages."

Did you leave it until the last minute - or even after the deadline - to register your baby's birth?
