Chelsea 0-2 Swansea City: Branislav Ivanoivic's Capital One Cup Horror Show (VIDEO)

Ivan The Terrible

Mutiny had never been more vociferous at Stamford Bridge this season as Chelsea fans booed Rafael Benítez and Fernando Torres after Swansea City consigned the Champions League winners to a 2-0 Capital One Cup semi-final defeat.

Goals from Michu and substitute Danny Graham have given the organised Swans an excellent chance of reaching their first Wembley final since the 2011 Play-off victory against Reading.

The languid Michu finished majestically in the 39th minute after Ivanović ceded the ball just outside Ross Turnbull's area, selling Gary Cahill a dummy in the process after Chelsea had threatened the visitors' goal.

Pleased to Michu

Swansea were rarely adventurous thereafter but Chelsea's dominance was sterile and whenever goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel was called upon the saves were routine.

Torres appeared disinterested and was belatedly substituted for Demba Ba to a chorus of sarcastic applause and boos in the 81st minute, the clearest signal yet Chelsea supporters have lost faith with him. That Benítez made three separate substitutions within a 12-minute spell hardly helped Chelsea's fluidity.

Ba was booked for diving when it appeared Tremmel had clipped him in the penalty area as Chelsea chased an equaliser before Ivanović offered Graham a 90th minute gift so inviting he nearly passed on his generosity.

Ivan the terrible

The Serbian's blind backpass was intercepted by the striker, who rounded Ross Turnbull only to stumble, allowing Ivanović and Cahill to reach the six-yard box. However the former Watford goalscorer composed himself and blasted the ball past the two sliding pairs of legs for his fourth goal in as many games.

Ba, making his home debut, immediately replied but was denied his third goal in two games for his new club by the offside flag. Moments later the final shrill was sounded by referee Anthony Taylor and was drowned out by the boo boys.

Out of the Champions League, out of the Premier League race, Club World Cup final losers and nearly out of the League Cup, Benítez may have just the FA Cup and Europa League to contend with in a fortnight's time.
