SAG Awards 2013 Winners: 'Downton Abbey' And Daniel Day-Lewis Scoop Top Gongs (PICTURES)

'Downton Abbey' and Daniel Day-Lewis lead the way for the Brits at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

'Lincoln' star Day-Lewis virtually locked in his Best Actor Oscar by securing the SAG accolade for his portrayal of assassinated U.S. President Abraham Lincoln.

And Julian Fellowes' period drama triumphed over the hit American series 'Boardwalk Empire', 'Mad Men', 'Homeland' and 'Breaking Bad' to win Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series.

Phyllis Logan, who plays Downton's housekeeper Mrs Hughes, was on hand to accept the award, along with Allen Leech (Tom Branson), Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary), Amy Nuttall (Ethel) and Sophie McShera (Daisy Mason).

Logan said: "We are so not expecting this! Oh!" And thanked the SAG, "for even bothering to consider us against this fantastic category that we're in, we are just absolutely overwhelmed by it all."

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence bounced back from a bout of pneumonia to collect the best Female Actor in a Leading Role title for her Academy Award-nominated turn in comedy drama 'Silver Linings Playbook'.

And the cast of 'Argo' continued their winning streaks as they picked up top honours at the Awards.

The longrunning career of beloved veteran Dick Van Dyke was also marked with the Lifetime Achievement honour.

  • Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries - Kevin Costner (Hatfields & McCoys)
  • Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries - Julianne Moore (Game Change)
  • Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series - Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad)
  • Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series - Claire Danes (Homeland)
  • Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series - Downton Abbey
  • Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series - Alec Baldwin (30 Rock)
  • Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series - Tina Fey (30 Rock)
