'The Book Of Mormon' Hits London

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone celebrated the opening of their award-winning musical The Book of Mormon in London's West End tonight.

The comedy - winner of nine Tony awards - premiered at the Prince of Wales Theatre ahead of its official opening on 21 March to a full house and rapturous applause.

Hundreds of fans had queued outside the theatre all night to be the first to see the show.

Introducing the show, Parker said: "We're so excited to be here for the fan performance.

"We heard some of you lined up overnight and we just wanted to say, from the bottom of our hearts... you're f*****g crazy. We hope the show can live up to that."

The musical, about a pair of young Mormon boys sent on a mission a long way from home, sold out on Broadway and is tipped to do the same in the West End.

Written by Stone, Parker and Avenue Q's co-creator Robert Lopez, the show is directed by Parker and Casey Nicholaw, and stars Gavin Creel and Jared Gertner as Elder Price and Elder Cunningham.
