The 21st century sports attendant has a tendency not to actually watch the sport they have paid to watch. And this England fan paid the ultimate price when he was hit on the head by New Zealand batsman Hamish Rutherford's six during the first Test in Dunedin.
Rutherford slogged Monty Panesar's delivery towards the long on boundary and beyond the rope, at which point the ball came crashing back down to earth, via the unsuspecting spectator's head.
Fortunately the fan was OK.
England were bowled out for a pathetic 167 after just two sessions on the second day after Tuesday's washout.
