The band named themselves after the Harry Dean Stanton character Travis Henderson from the film 'Paris, Texas'.
Before their self-imposed hiatus, Travis were one of the UK's most popular bands, with two number one albums, five top ten singles, two Brit Awards and more than 8 million record sales.
