Cristiano Ronaldo paid tribute to his former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who announced his retirement today.
Ronaldo said on Twitter, "Thanks for everything, boss." and accompanied the tweet with a picture of him and Ferguson on the day he signed for United in August 2003.
Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, former United player Ravel Morrison and a slew of politicians, including the prime minister and Labour leader Ed Miliband, also extolled the Scot.
Sir Alex, one of the best managers of all time. After 26 years of success in the game, we all owe him a tribute.

I wish Sir Alex Ferguson an enjoyable retirement. Some bitter memories from many battles, but some oh so sweet too! An amazing manager!
