As Xabi Alonso has shown, goals from your own half aren't always that impressive. Usually a player has oodles of time with the goalkeeper at the opposite end or, if you're Steve Harper, helpfully falling over. Evian striker Saber Khelifa's effort against Nice is the exceptional exception.
Khelifa's goal, roughly from 65 yards out, comes after he holds off a defender and blasts the ball over a reasonably placed goalkeeper's head for one of the goals of the season on the continent.
