About Time: SJP Is Designing Her Own Shoe Line

We feel like we've been waiting for this moment forever.

Almost 15 years to the day since Sarah Jessica Parker first popped on to our screens as the shoe-loving writer Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City, the actress has announced that she is to design a shoe line.

Staying true to her character's favourite heel designer, Sarah will collaborate on the project with Manolo Blahnik CEO George Malkemus. Simply called SJP, the collection takes its inspiration from classic designs and styles (don't expect Bradshaw-esque bling or flounce) and will also include bags and trench coats.

Speaking to US Vogue about her decision to go into retail, the 48-year-old said: "In a silly way, I think it's what people have expected of me most because of Carrie Bradshaw. We're putting new colours together that people don't typically do, just beautiful combinations that you wish existed in your closet. And in terms of bags, thinking about that period of the Seventies into the Eighties, what those women were carrying, taking away the bells and the whistles and hardware and really making it about the bag."

Speaking about her days on Sex And The City, Sarah said: "Because I got to play that role, I wore a lot of shoes and by default I learned an enormous amount. It's hard to - no pun intended - walk away from that."

And we're so glad she hasn't.

But what about the price? Well, Carrie would have a field day. Flats will range from around $200 (£130) and bags will retail for under $700 (£450) and will be sold exclusively at US retailer Nordstrom. Another reason to jump across the pond early next year.
