Anne Hathaway took her newly cropped hair to the Lapham's Quarterly first annual gala (AKA The Decades Ball) in New York City on Tuesday night.
The actress went for the chop a few weeks ago in preparation for her role as Fantine in Les Miserables, an unmarried mother who loses her job and is forced to sell her hair and teeth before turning to prostitution. We assume that while Anne has sacrificed her hair for the role, she probably didn't have her teeth removed.
Anyway, back to the matter in hand:
Anne, accompanied by her fiancé Adam Shulman (in the background to the right hand side), attended the literary magazine's gala wearing a strapless blue and black ombré dress, minimal jewellery and a black clutch.
Perhaps it's just because they have a similar physique and it's a rare thing to see a lady with cropped hair in Hollywood, but she's really putting us in mind of Natalie Portman.
