First Look: ME Hotel Hits London

Spanish hotel group Melia Hotels International is about to expand its portfolio into the UK, with ME London launching at Marconi House (the original home of BBC Radio), on The Strand next month. Designed by Foster + Partners, the flagship hotel will showcase its super slick decor when it opens on 24th July, just in time for the London Olympics. So what can we expect from the city's latest hotspot?

There are 157 bedrooms, including 16 suites plus one penthouse apartments for those looking to splash out, as well as the British version of New York's steakhouse concept, STK.

The Macaroni bar will welcome guests in the lobby, but the hotel's USP has to be the panoramic views from the Radio Bar on the rooftop terrace, which will serve up everything from breakfast to cocktails, with signature tipples including the English Electric Company (a mix of gin, mint lime and Moet) and the fruity Mile High Margarita. No prizes for guessing where the fashion pack will be hanging out after a day at Somerset House this September...

Rates will start at around £300 per night for two people sharing a deluxe room. Find out more about booking at Melia.com
