With the annual Hay on Wye literary festival starting on 31 May, here's MyDaily's quick guide to the well-read Welsh town known for its host of secondhand book stores; a favourite with world leaders and big readers, liberal thinkers and antique thrifters.
This year the town will welcome actor Stephen Fry, designer Thomas Heatherwick, artist Gavin Turk, comedians Jack Dee and Bill Bailey, and writers Salman Rushdie, Ian Rankin, Kathy Lette and Victoria Hislop among many, many others. It's probably best to leave the Kindle at home for this trip.
