Helen Mirren was celebrating after winning her first Olivier Award for her portrayal of the queen inThe Audience on Sunday night - making her the first person to win an Oscar, Bafta, Golden Globe and Olivier for playing the same character.

She won the other three awards for her told in the film The Queen, and the play, The Audience, was also written by Peter Morgan.

But never mind the gong, what about her stunning midnight-blue dress? The beautiful sheer fabric was delicately embellished with sparkle, and the off-the-shoulder scalloped neckline was oh-so-elegant.

A chic chignon completed what was a seriously successful ensemble - to top off the successful night as a whole.
