Mischa Barton Tells All About Growing Up On The OC, Prefers Country Walks And Pubs These Days

Mischa Barton has confessed she wouldn't wish her life as a celebrity on anyone and these days, she prefers to stay away from the public eye. The actress, who rose to fame as Marissa in The OC, first appeared on film at 1 years-old and hasn't always had the best of times in the limelight.

In a recent interview with Look magazine, Mischa said, "I don't think I was quite ready. We had no private lives and were followed mercilessly."

She added, "It's tough to have every moment of your life documented and never be allowed down time. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

"I feel like people are still harping on about things that happened to me ages ago - for some reason they're still fascinated by it. But it's like night and day for me - I'm a completely different person."

The 28-year-old, hit headlines for driving under the influence in 2007 and when she was sectioned in 2009, said she's more comfortable with her life and prefers to spend her time between London with her family and her British actor boyfriend Sebastian Knapp, and her home in LA.

"I've grown up. I feel confident in myself again these days. I've become smarter over the years - I stay out of the public eye and go out in Hollywood once in a blue moon.

"I like to go to the pub for Sunday lunch with my family. It's things like that I value the most when I'm in London. My sister Zoe just had a baby so I see her and we mainly walk our basset hound in Hyde Park."
