Most people thought Katy Perry and Russell Brand's whirlwind showmance was doomed from the star, but few could've predicted lothario Russ would call time on the marriage via, wait for it... text message!
Singer Katy has revealed she hasn't heard from her ex-husband since he sent a message to say he was divorcing her. Gosh, that's awks.
"He's a very smart man, a magical man and I was in love with him when I married him. Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me on December 31, 2011," she said.
Speaking to US Vogue, Katy spilled that she often blamed herself for the failure of the marriage but has since found out there was more to the split than she first thought.
"I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can't necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day," she explained.
Adding, "I let go and I was like, 'This isn't because of me; this is beyond me.' So I have moved on from that."
However, Katy did reveal she always had her suspicions Russ felt threatened by her being the "boss" while on tour, and rarely travelled to join her on the road.
"I do admit I was on the road a lot. I tried to come home as much as I possibly could. I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal but then they get that equal and they're like, 'I can't handle it'."
While Katy's been opening up to Vogue, it was business as usual from Russell who was out on Tuesday night with Noel Gallagher and Josephine De La Baume at the Opera Gallery London to show his support of Diversity in Care's Campaign, Unspoken.
