Tears Before Bedtime: David Letterman Makes Lindsay Lohan Cry

For the love of god can someone please pass us a tissue or ten? Troubled star Lindsay Lohan got all teary-eyed on The Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday after he praised her on having "enough spine... enough poise" and enough sense of herself to appear on his show.

After making a whole lotta jokes about her upcoming stint in rehab and her problems with addiction, the chat show host showed a surprising amount of compassion for the star.

AND his comments didn't go unnoticed as they were greeted by a heart-warming round of applause from the audience and a few tears from Li-Lo herself. Bless.

Before provoking the watershed Letterman tried to draw Linds out, asking how many times she'd been in rehab, how this time would differ, and what she's being treated for. The 26-year-old looked totes uncomfortable and said she didn't expect Letterman's line of questioning.

But she said that she wants to be healthy and focus on what she loves – her work. She added that she looks at rehab as "a blessing and not a curse."
