The Great Gatsby Will Open Cannes Film Festival: How To Get That 1920s Style &Amp; Shimmy Sussed

Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby will open the Cannes Film Festival on 15 May 2013 - now this is cause for beyond-fabulous flapper girl style, shake and sass. The 1920's glitterati and glamour is sure to have you sipping endless cocktails and scatting at every soiree.

So what will this F. Scott Fitzgerald film adaptation do for our wardrobes? MyDaily caught up with Joanna Shiers from Stylus to get the low down on exactly what we'll be seeing on the fashion stakes. Accessories wise it's ALL about the lap of luxury so think "cloche hats, skull caps, long pearls, embellished headbands, ostrich feathers, t-bar sandals". Then when it comes to the dresses, Joanna says it's about fringing, tiered layers and drop waist vintage. Voila.

As for the tresses - go for instant Gatsby girl opulence with tight luxe curls. TRESemme's Matthew Curtis says that the film will reinforce a romanticised era - and hair inspiration will come from sleek rolls and Marcel waves.

So here's how to tap into the Gatsby trend plus a hairdo how-to. Well hello Daisy Buchanan.
