There Is An Awesome McQueen-Esque Dress Made From 50,000 Gummy Bears!

You know it's going to be a good day when you're having a conversation with Twelv Magazine that involves the phrases "Alexander McQueen tribute dress" "gorgeous high res pictures" and "50,000 gummy bears".

To celebrate the magazine's inaugural issue Editor-in-Chief, Hissa Igarashi and Sayuri Marakumi have created a confectionary-based homage to the late Alexander McQueen in this rainbow dress - a reworking of McQueen's iconic Spring/Summer 2008 design (pictured below).

The Twelv version shunned fabric and instead chose to work in a slightly more edible medium:

"To create the masterpiece, steel wire was twisted into the shape of the dress and covered with a sheet of vinyl. Then 50,000 gummy bears were painstakingly glued on by hand in a colorful pattern reminiscent of a Chevron rainbow."

Our main reactions at this point are:

ONE:

We are reminded of the bit in The Simpsons where a man at a candy convention tells Homer there is a gummy Venus de Milo who was "carved by artisans who work exclusively in the medium of gummy".

TWO:

We assume the actual number of gummy bears involved was actually "MORE OR LESS 50,000" because the designers are only human.

Fancy some more info?

The whole thing weighs 220lb and requires three grown human beings to move it around.

The model is Jessica Pitti

There are somewhere between 350,000-450,000 calories in 50,000 gummy bears
