You'd be forgiven for letting this slip under your radar, what with all The Great Gatsby hype just about petering out, but now it's time to get with the programme and swot up on MyDaily's new favourite on-screen stud, star of the new Superman flick Man Of Steel, Henry Cavill.
Just one look at his immensely chiselled jaw line and lagoon-like eyes is reason enough to want to get to know Henners. AND guess what? We've done all the leg work for you and have put together five need-to-know facts about this handsome fella...
1. He's no stranger
You may not recognise him at first glance but this dude's been around since 2001. OMG right? He was totes in The Count of Monte Cristo, Midsomer Murders AND that stupidly sexy TV series we half-watched The Tudors.
2. He's got a posh name
Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill. Enough. Said.
3. He was a potential Bond
In 2005, Henry was totally a contender for the role of James Bond in Casino Royale, and performed in a final screen test. However, the producers thought he was too young for the role, and gave it to Daniel Craig instead.
4. He was almost Edward
Henry was author Stephenie Meyer's first choice to play Edward Cullen in the movie series of Twilight, but was considered too old to play a 17-year-old (gosh, give the guy a break) by the time the flick was produced.
5. He was pretty much born to play Superman
Just look at his jaw. It's so square. Superman was his calling and we're glad he answered it. On that note, he's also the first non-American to play the role.
