Second Time Lucky For Kanye At Paris Fashion Week?

WHO? Kanye West

IN A NUTSHELL: When we arrived we mistook tonight's Kanye show for an understated affair in comparison to his bells and whistles Paris Fashion Week debut. Things felt a lot more intimate and restrained - there was even some classical music playing for goodness sake. But it didn't last; as soon as the first model hit the runway, it was clear that this was loud, proud and unapologetically Kanye West. There was dry ice, leather, fur and lots of skin - oh, and the catwalk was surrounded by a go-karting track complete with go-karts.

BEG, BORROW OR STEAL: Leather dominated, and we were rather partial to the boxy biker jackets and flippy leather pencil skirts. The huge fur backpack from last season got a second outing, but we remain unconvinced (sorry Kanye).

F-ROW: Kim Kardashian, dressed head-to-toe in Kanye's Spring/Summer collection, P Diddy, Alicia Keys and Azealia Banks. Definitely one of our favourite f-rows.

VERDICT: After the less than enthusiastic reception to his debut, we suspected that Kanye might change tact this season. But Kanye stuck to his guns - and good on him. Yes, it's clear that Riccardo Tisci's leather-clad Givenchy girls are a big source of inspiration, and yes, some of the clothes on the catwalk would be better suited to a dry-humping situation in a music video, but overall Kanye answered the critics with a much stronger collection that contained refined silhouettes and a handful of standout pieces.
