10 On-Screen Couples We Wish Were Together In Real Life

10 On-Screen Couples We Wish Were Together In Real Life

You know when you watch a film or a TV show and you're just blown away by two characters' chemistry? How could they NOT actually be together, you ponder? You know, off screen?

These are our top 11 on-screen couples we could totally see as offscreen sweethearts *stares into the yonder dreamily...*

1. Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon Levitt in 500 Days Of Summer

They. Are. So. Cute. And that kiss in the copy room? The hottest thing that's happened in an office since Ally McBeal was canned. When Summer dumped Tom, she broke everyone's heart. EVERYONE'S HEART! Anyway, drama aside, these two are friends in real life which is comforting. Plus they share their awesomeness by making videos like this.

2. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey in How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days

Ben and Andi were pretty much the best romcom couple since Hugh Grant and Martine McClutcheon when this film was released in 2003. Plus he had sharp suits and she had that amazing yellow dress - what could go wrong? We have to be very strict though and say this theory does not apply to Fool's Gold Kate and Matthew. They were rubbish.

3. Hannah Murray and Mike Bailey AKA Cassie and Sid in Skins

She was all dreamy with the best wardrobe in Skins and he was a teenage boy who needed to discover life after beanies. But their romance was the best thing about this show (sorry, we got a bit fed up with Tony and Michelle)

4. Amanda Plummer and Tim Roth in Pulp Fiction

Pumpkin and Honeybunny loved each other. Yes, yes, they were trying to rob that diner and gunpoint and everything but wasn't it sweet when they walked off into the sunset? (That's actually a rhetorical question).

5. Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio in Romeo & Juliet

Obviously (part one).

6. Carrie Bradshaw and Aiden Shaw in Sex And The City

Look, he was better than Big. Sorry, he just was. He made nice furniture and Carrie was much more fun and less whiny when he was in the picture. Imagine a real life couple like this actually existed. Imagine...

7. Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling in The Notebook

Obviously (part two).

8. Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody in The OC

Ryan and Marissa? Pah! Wevs! It was all about Seth and Summer and they actually were together but now aren't. Sad face.

9. Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick in Gossip Girl

Blair and Chuck were joyous. Beyond joyous. Particularly for the following piece of genius dialogue:

B: You are disgusting. I hate you.

C: Then why are you still holding my hand?

10. Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio in Nashville

So this is our new favourite couple of all time on TV. It's official: Scarlett and Gunnar are perfect for each other. PERFECT. Plus they sing country music together which should be awful but is actually outstanding. No, we don't understand it either.
