'Corrie' producer Stuart Blackburn said last night: “We wish Michelle every happiness as she moves on to pastures new.”

Former 'EastEnders' star Michelle was introduced as Rovers Return landlady Stella in June 2011, along with daughter Eva Price, played by Catherine Tyldesley, and boyfriend Karl Munro, played by John Michie.

Sue Johnston later joined the soap as Stella's mother Gloria, but the actress has announced her intention to leave, while John is also set to leave as Karl later this year.

Stella's final scenes will air in June 2014.

It was recently revealed that Liz McDonald will be taking back control of the Rovers when actress Beverley Callard returns to the cobbles in the autumn.
