Guess how Pirelli is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its famous calendar? By not making one.
Instead, the brand is using pictures from the unpublished 1986 calendar shot by Helmut Newton (luckily, 1986 and 2014 have the same calendar year.)
The shots were taken at the Monte Carlo Grand Prix and in the Tuscan countryside in 1985. After Newton had to step down from the project, the published 1986 calendar featured photographs taken by American photographer Bert Stern.
Next year, Newton's work for Pirelli will finally be revealed, almost 30 years later.
