Bizarre Baby Names Of 2012 - Tinkerbell, Nemo, Storm And Buzz-Bee

Your children may love Tinkerbell and Nemo as film characters, but one wonders what they might make of classmates with these names.

Nevertheless, it seems Disney names are growing in popularity. And in a few years' time the class register could also include Buzz-Bee, Storm, River, Blade, Zico and Diesel. Or perhaps Sailor, Wade, Zed and Hendrix.

Also recorded on birth certificates over the last 12 months are Bliss, Star, Pyper, Kizzie and Buttercup.

The unusual names feature on a list compiled by parenting website Bounty.com of names given to the 430,000 babies born in the UK this year.

These ever so slightly bonkers baby names might be the ones we're enjoying, but reassuringly for traditionalists the most popular names given to both boys and girls are a great deal more familiar.

In the overall top 100 lists Harry came top for boys with Jack in second and Charlie in third place.

Amelia has overtaken Olivia as the most popular girls' name with Emily third.

The top 10 boys names for 2012 are Harry, Jack, Charlie, Oliver and Alfie, Riley, Jacob, James, Thomas and Ethan.

The top girls names for 2012 are Amelia, Olivia, Emily, Jessica, Sophie, Lily, Mia, Ava, Isla and Ruby
