Five Amazing Female Artists To Listen Out For In 2014

Miley Cyrus recently claimed Beyonce is past it in an interview with Love magazine.

While we're inclined to disagree with little Cyrus on that one, there are plenty of amazing female talent out there ready and raring to fill Bey's shoes. So, for a good dose of girl power this year, keep your ears open for these ladies...

1. Chloe Howl

Recently named in the BBC's Sound Of 2014 poll and in the top three for the BRITs Critics' Choice Award, 18-year-old Chloe is set for the big time. While she's got a whole lot of muso kudos, we like her for her pixie crop, boyish style and authentic London (or should that be Landan?) sound.

2. Banks

If you hadn't noticed already RnB is making a comeback... In a big way. While that means you're allowed to dust off your old Usher albums you should probably give this chick a listen. She recently supported The Weekend on his 'Kiss Land' tour and if there's one lad's music choice we trust it's his.

3. Foxes

Foxes has been around for a while but she only came to our attention when her hit 'Youth' was used in the Debenhams Christmas ad. With a Fall Out Boy collab already under her belt this one is one to watch in 2014. Her ethereal poppy sound is like velvet on the ear drums. Fact.

4. Lorde

Aussie teen Lorde literally sprang out of nowhere at the end of 2013 with her hit 'Royals' which made it to number one quicker than you can say, "I wash Prince Harry was my boyfriend". At just 17-years-old we're predicting big things for this girl. Plus, she's single-handedly bringing back the Dolce & Gabbana-esque goth trend and we're all for it.

5. Chvrches

Okay, okay so these lot are actually a band with boys in it, but fronted by the kickass Lauren Mayberry with a totally killer voice we thought they deserved a spot on this list. If you love Scottish synthpop (who doesn't?) then you'll utterly adore these guys, and especially this track...
