His partner Lauren Silverman's due date is 28 February, which would mean workaholic Simon may have to miss out on celebrating the launch of the X Factor musical the day before.

Previously he's replied to questions on whether or not he'd be at the birth with the hilariously unreconstructed man comment: "Are you out of your mind? There are certain things you shouldn't see."
