Oxford City Goalkeeper Injured Rescuing Cat From A Tree

Oxford City goalkeeper Victor Francoz has injured himself while attempting to rescue a cat from a tree.

Yes, the Frenchman, perhaps trying to live up to Mr Incredible's standards, suffered a wound on his calf after he fell out of the tree during his heroics.

And the Lyon-born stopper, who came over to join the Conference North club from the United States, has returned to his homeland following the embarrassment.

Manager Mike Ford told the Oxford Mail: "It’s ridiculous. I’ve not got any sympathy for him at all because he’s done it to himself.

"He fell out of a tree when he was trying to get a cat.

"He’s got a deep cut and unfortunately now we don’t have Victor because he’s gone back to France for a couple of weeks to have treatment.

"You just don’t get professional players climbing trees."

Francoz is now destined to be nicknamed "The Cat" - unless he is already. If only Dan Petrecu* was around...
