'Tickle': The App That Rescues You From Awkward Social Situations With A Fake Phone Call (VIDEO)

We've all been there. On a bad date, usually. But also: in any situation where we've been desperate for someone to call us so that we can get out of a tricky/awkward/socially excruciating moment.

Well, now you don't have to wait/hope/pray for that call. Because a new app called Tickle (currently in Beta stage) uses your phone's accelerometer (whatever that is) to generate a phantom phone call whenever you need it (hoorah!).

All you have to do is "touch your phone in an awkward manner" - see video above - for your phone to 'call' you. And then... well, then, you just need to make sure your acting skills are up to scratch.

Thank you, creators Alex Cornell and Phil Mills. On behalf of all mankind.
