During the recent UK floods we got a little taste of the potential for using drones to report news and document events and it looked pretty incredible.
It was not however, a patch on this.
Get a drone up close and personal with an erupting volcano and spectacular things happen.
This is Yasur volcano on Tanna Island in Vanuatu and that DJI Phantom quad-copter is essentially playing chicken with flying balls of lava.
The drone he used - a DJI Phantom - is commercially available, and can be fitted with a range of action cameras.
On its website, DJI describe the drone as such:
"A compact and highly integrated design means that it is easier for you to pack it into your backpack. The streamlined design brilliantly reflects the aesthetics of its industrial design and the fantastic visual effects allows you to become the focus of the crowd. Moreover, you can mount a GoPro or other light and handy cameras on your Phantom to shoot some footage from the air which will bring you a brand new travel experience."
