iOS 8 Release Date: Our Best Guess

When's iOS 8 Coming Out?

Apple's next big update to the software that runs the iPhone and iPad will be coming sooner than you think.

Currently, our best guess is that iOS 8 will be announced on 2 June 2014, the first day of Apple's WWDC conference in San Francisco.

That conference is where Apple typically unveils its new software and SDKs to developers, so they can get their new and existing apps ready for the launch.

The launch of the new OS will begin shortly after with the release of the beta, with successive versions following throughout July and August.

The full release should hit in September or perhaps October, alongside the new iPhone 6.

It is usual for a few key features to be held back for the full launch - so don't be disappointed if the beta doesn't go as far as you thought.

As for what the OS will contain in terms of features? Luckily we now have a full round-up of the latest rumours.
