Iran's New Drone Saves Innocent Lives Rather Than Destroying Them

Iran has a new drone. And it's designed to save innocent lives, not destroy them.

The country's RTS Labs has designed the Pars drone to operate as a remote controlled life guard, able to deliver life preserving floatation devices to swimmers in trouble.

The drone has been tested in the Caspian Sea, including at night, when human lifeguards might not be much use. The drone is equipped with night-vision cameras, thermal sensors, bright lights and a camera to help its human operators search for missing people.

The drone is still in the development stage, but points to an interesting future in which we might welcome the signs of drones in our skies rather than debate their potential for enslaving humanity at the UN.
