Paris Couture Week: Giorgio Armani Prive Autumn/Winter 2014

The Giorgio Armani Prive catwalk during Paris haute couture week showcased a collection of stunning sculptured designs - strapless gowns with embellished gauzy veils, tulle puff-ball dresses, cocoon-shaped outerwear and polka-dot separates.

While monochrome was key, it was the bold red ensembles that really stole the show. This was Armani displaying his love of texture play.

His couture collection was sequinned, structured and elaborate for both day and evening wear.

Pencil skirts, pretty blouses, tailored shorts and asymmetric jackets were all completely wearable, whilethe black, white and red gave the collection a dramatic edge, especially with matching leather biker gloves, chunky accessories and boxy clutches to complete the look.

Print was also worked into the collection - best seen across the mid-length coats as a refreshing alternative to all the colour-blocking.

When length wasn't floor-sweeping it was above the knee, revealing long legs and pointed ankle strap stilettos.

This collection was for women who love performance dressing.
