A Russian soldier who is apparently 'addicted' to selfies may have accidentally revealed he was in Ukrainian territory -- despite his nation's insistence that they are not directly involved in the ongoing conflict.
Sanya Sotkin, who is 24-years-old and reportedly a member of the Russian armed forced, posted pictures of himself that based on geo-tagged data were taken inside Ukraine.
According to The Drum, the pictures taken in July show Sotkin near to the towns of Kranaya Talovka and Krasnyi Derkul, well inside rebel-controlled areas of the country.
On July 7, Sotkin posted the message:
"I still don’t understand what we’re doing here, so we’re continuing to go slightly crazy, listen to #swedishhousemafia and wait for new news from Ukraine!"
He also posted pictures of himself in uniform, engaging in official training exercises and camping with fellow soldiers.
It cannot be confirmed that the pictures are genuine, but it appears as though Sotkin might be in trouble with his superiors -- and that Russia might be in even greater trouble with the international community.
