BuzzFeed UK: My Work Style

BuzzFeed UK: My Work Style

What do you wear when you work for the website everyone's talking about, BuzzFeed UK? We met the team to get some style and beauty tips and check out their super cool, laid-back office...

Account manager, Nicole Sander, wears a black tunic shirt from Theory, khaki jeans from J Brand and a beautiful pair of knee-high leather boots by Stuart Weitzman.

Nicole proves that investing in a few style staples will have you looking smart and super-sleek during your working week. The backpack? It's from Rag & Bone - bang on trend and completely classic.

What's her can't-live-without-it beauty product? The Michael Kors lip gloss/ rollerball eau de parfum duo.

Rebecca Serra, office manager, keeps her work wardrobe casual-cool and sticks to boyfriend jeans, loafers and an oversized handbag.

She wears a black jumper from Zara, jeans from a Spanish boutique and bead embellished Zenith slippers from House of Harlow - she rarely does heels. The slouchy black arm candy is by Anya Hindmarch.

What did Rebecca wear for her interview at Buzzfeed? "Boyfriend jeans, a grey t-shirt, my Crombie coat (which I got on eBay) and a necklace that said 'Pick Me.'"

The vibe in the office is? "Funny, cool, goofy, smart wonderfulness!"

Melissa Coleman is BuzzFeed UK's international account strategist, when we swing by the office she's in crochet knit top from BCBG, green skinny jeans from Rag & Bone and a black leather jacket by Vince.

The brown ankle boots are by Madewell and the owl pendant necklace was a gift.

Does Melissa plan out her work outfits? No, but she swears by a good jean and shirt combo.

Will Hayward, vice president of advertising Europe, not only works a seriously hipster beard but he's a trainers man AND loves cats. He has a tattoo of his three-legged kitty-cat on his arm.

Will wears a pale blue Ben Sherman shirt, Nude jeans and Nike kicks. On the grooming front he shampoos and conditions the beard and occasionally swings by Murdock, a barbershop in Shoreditch.

When it comes to clothes shopping, Will says: "When I find something that really suits, I buy loads of it. I have about five of these shirts."

UK editor, Luke Lewis, says that the atmosphere at BuzzFeed UK is fun, light-hearted, entertaining and full of personality.

"Since the UK launch last March [2013] we've had an unwritten company rule that no meeting is ever compulsory."

Luke wears a black and white stripe top and jeans, both from Reiss with purple-laced brogues by Ben Sherman. He clothes shops about twice a year but heads down to Ted's Grooming Rooms once a month for a Turkish shave.

Tabatha Leggett, staff writer, wears a slouchy top from Zara, Urban Outfitters jeans, Cos boots and carries a tan Bayswater handbag by Mulberry.

What's key when dressing for work at BuzzFeed? "Comfy, easy styles. I usually wear jumpers and jeans with a pair of flats."

Her interview outfit? "It was SO hot the day I had my BuzzFeed interview so I wore a summer dress from Urban Outfitters and flipflops!"

Senior writer, Tom Philips, models a few on-brand pieces for our visit. Yes that would be a BuzzFeed zip-up hoody, bag, baseball cap, beanie hat AND blanket (very Burberry circa London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2014 catwalk).

He's also wearing jeans and a burgundy shirt from Uniqlo, French Connection specs, and red Converse. We LOVE this co-ordination.

Kimberley Dadds is the celebrity editor at BuzzFeed UK. As far as shopping for work pieces goes Kimberley says: "I pick up things as I go, I like high street shops like H&M, Forever 21 and River Island."

This all-black ensemble? The sleeveless top is from H&M, the leather-look leggings are from Zara and the biker boots are from Next.

The pink print scarf is from Forever 21 and the incredible daisies manicure was done by The Illustrated Nail.

Ailbhe Malone, lifestyle editor, wears a grey tee from Gap, black jeans from Urban Outfitters, a pair of Dr. Martens and a blue pendant from Asos.

"I like my style to look put-together but not too professional, that way I can go out after work and still feel comfortable."

Fave beauty buy? MAC's Girl About Town lipstick.

Cate Sevilla, homepage editor, styles out a monochrome stripe dress from H&M, a polka dot jacket from Gap, lace-up ankle boots from Urban Outfitters and a pair of lego earrings she got at a craft fair.

Cate's 6 am start means that she's a lady who likes an easy-on work ensemble, think dresses skirts and a tailored jacket.

What's her beauty must-have? "My No.7 lipstick. I'm also a big fan of Lush's skincare range, the lavender stuff is amazing."
