Cate Blanchett Is A Dream In 1950s Dress At Comic Con

Question: does Cate Blanchett ever get her look wrong? Surely, the answer is no.

All eyes were on the Australian actress in her Fausto Puglisi resort 2015 dress at The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies photocall during Comic Con 2014 in California on Saturday.

Cate mastered the art of pink pleats in this retro-style zip-front dress. If anyone can do a pristine satin collar and boxy T-shirt sleeves it's Cate.

This was a definite chance from her signature sculptured, sequinned, textured silhouettes, but the look was fresh and ultra-feminine. The barely-there makeup and understated updo? Love.

Candyfloss pink is still a thing this season and Cate can definitely pull it off - because age is nothing when you know what suits.

The rules to wearing it? Colour-blocking never fails, play accessories down (Cate's Roger Vivier shoes were spot on) and team with a red lipstick for maximum wow factor (as seen on the Antonio Berardi Spring/Summer 2014 runway).

Cate was joined by fellow cast members: Orlando Bloom, Benedict Cumberbatch, Evangeline Lilly, and Elijah Wood (to name a few) during the star-studded event.
