Cheryl Cole's Bottom Tattoo Hits Bum Note With Her Mum

It would seem that Cheryl Cole's bottom tattoo hasn't just caused controversy in the press and on radio shows up and down the land - if reports are to be believed, even her own MUM is none too impressed with the star's mega inking.

The Daily Star claims that livid mum Joan phoned Cheryl, 29, and demanded: 'What the hell is that?'.

The enormous design - which covers the whole of the Geordie singer's derriere and half her back - came to light when her artist Nikko Hurtado shared a snap of it on his Instagram account.

Cheryl took to Twitter to defend her body art choice after critics raised eyebrows at the size of the work. 'People are entitled to their own opinion. Personally I've never really concerned myself with other people's body parts!' she wrote.

The Girls Aloud star added that she'd had the design for seven or eight months but had only just had all the detail completed in a 15-hour session.

And as for her mum's reported ear bashing? Cheryl's 'people' told EntertainmentWise that it didn't happen and the claims were simply 'not true'.

It may look like a particularly florid wallpaper but at least she didn't have her bottom tattooed with this!
