Cressida Bonas On 'Compassionate Leave' From Work After Prince Harry Break-Up

Cressida Bonas is nursing a broken heart after her split from boyfriend of two years Prince Harry and has been granted compassionate leave from her job in marketing while she gets over the break-up.

While her ex Harry has been partying it up in Miami ahead of best pal Guy Pelly's wedding - an event Cressie was scheduled to attended with her royal beau - the former dancer has been cooped up at home.

"Cressida can't stand the fact that everywhere she goes, someone takes a picture of her on their smartphone especially when she is feeling down," a friend told Vanity Fair.

"She has been told it's OK for her to take some time off work."

But this isn't the first time a royal girlf has been given a little leeway at work after a much publicised split. Back in 2007 when Kate Middleton, the now Duchess of Cambridge, briefly called it quits with Prince William she was given time off from her accessories buying job at Jigsaw so she could dodge the paps camped outside head office.

In fact, the constant intrusion into her private life is thought to be one of the BIG reasons behind Cressida and Hazza's split, with a pal telling VF: "We do worry that Cressida doesn't have a thick-enough skin to be a royal girlfriend."

However, if the gossip mongers are to be believed it wasn't just the glare of the spotlight putting Cressie off and blame has been laid at Kate Middleton's door. #Awks.

"Kate and Cressie just didn't get along," a source told Showbiz Spy.

"Kate initially thought Cressie and Harry were the real deal and their relationship would end in marriage. But in the end, she just couldn't warm to her."

The insider added: "She tried to give Cressie guidance. If anyone knows about how to be an outside in the Royal Family, it's Kate. But Cressie didn't seem interested.

"William had words with Harry, and told him friction between between the women could cause a major problem in the long term."
