Duchess Kate Breaks With Tradition And 'Hires Young Foreign Nanny'

Duchess Kate Middleton has reportedly steered away from the royal tradition of hiring matronly British nannies - and has got a young foreign lady on board instead.

Prince William's former nanny Jessie Webb, 71, has been on hand to help raise seven-month-old Prince George, but reportedly felt the couple's upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand would be too much for her to take on.

So Kate has hired a new girl, according to the Daily Mail.

A source told the Mail Online: "Jessie has been an amazing help to the couple but she felt she was unable to carry out a very demanding tour to the other side of the world.

"The duke and duchess have been looking for a new nanny since January. They have now hired a woman who is about 22 and foreign."

Ms Webb came to the end of her contract at Christmas, but has continued helping out while the royals searched for a replacement, reports news.com.au.

The Daily Mail report added that both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge 'adore' Jessie and will keep in close touch with her.

Meanwhile, it looks like Kate is set to dazzle fans Down Under, as she's reportedly been given the key to the Crown Jewels safe, and is taking a selection of glittering pieces for her impending tour.
