Liz Hurley is set to play the Queen in a new American television drama. Yes, this is for real! The 48-year-old has been cast as the British monarch in upcoming series The Royals which will follow the lives of a fictional royal family.
The show - which is also loosely based on Shakespeare's Hamlet (what the ef?) - will revolve around Liz's character who clashes with her son and his American girlfriend while her marriage falls apart around her.
Flippin' heck this sounds like a whirlwind drama doesn't it?
The Royals is set to indulge the Yanks love of the British upper classes following the success of Downton Abbey - apparently.
