Emmy Awards trend alert!
After television's leading ladies went crazy for yellow at the 2012 awards, it was hard to tell which colour would prove to be the most popular on this year's red carpet. Turns out? It was all about the blue belles.
From royal blue to icy pastels, every shade was put in the spotlight thanks to Allison Williams, Zooey Deschanel and co.
So - who wore what?
1. The statement-makers
Girls star Williams wowed in a strapless royal blue design by Ralph Lauren. Imagine her face when she clocked Tina Fey wearing EXACTLY the same colour. Thankfully, the style (and designer) was different. Fey wore a flattering fishtail gown by Narciso Rodriguez.
2. The pretty pastels
It would be easy to assume that the girls who chose to wear icy blue over anything brighter wanted to make a subtle statement. Then again, Julianne Hough kind of ruined that. Her Jenny Packham dress was SEE-THROUGH.
Zooey Deschanel stuck to her signature vintage Hollywood glam style in a J. Mendel column dress. Beautiful (and those pointy platforms looked brilliant too).
3. Totally turquoise
Trust Mad Men's Jessica Pare to go and wear that Oscar de la Renta gown (it's just been seen on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week). It also happened to be the brightest dress at this year's Emmys.... until Lena Dunham arrived in her rose print Prada dress.
