Former Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie has given birth to a baby boy.

The 38-year-old star delivered her baby by a planned C-section in a LA hospital on Thursday morning.

The Mail reports that her husband Josh Duhamel, 40, was by her side for their son's arrival.

The couple have given their first-born a true rock n roll name, naming him Axl Jack.

The TMZ website claims the baby weighed in at 7 pounds 10 ounces, and his name is in tribute to Guns n Roses frontman Axl Rose.

Fergie is said to be a huge fan of the band, and performed Sweet Child O' Mine with their guitarist Slash during a Black Eyed Peas' show in 2011.

The new mum is reportedly staying in a VIP suite at the unnamed hospital and is 'recuperating from the surgery and enjoying time with her newborn'.

Fergie and Josh tied the knot in 2009 and revealed they were expecting back in February, with Fergie excitedly tweeting: 'Josh & Me & BABY makes three!!!' along with the hashtag 'Mylovelybabybump'.
