Gwyneth Paltrow Launches The Cookbook Club - It's For Serious Foodies

Have you ever heard of a Cookbook Club? It's like a book club, only it's for foodie types who want to find recipe inspiration by chatting about their favourite dishes with their chums. Really.

And guess who's pioneering this new trend? Gwyneth Paltrow, of course!

The actress announced the launch of her very own club on her lifestyle website Goop earlier in May.

"This was not my idea. The cookbook club. Which is probably why it's so good," Gwyneth wrote.

"While I have always liked the idea of a book club (sorta) I am just not that type of gal. Until one of my gorgeous girls suggested we do a different book club of sorts. A cookbook club!"

She goes on to say her club's first cookbook choice is Roberta's Cookbook, which encouraged her group of friends to "smoke our own fish, dammit."

Sounds like a blast.

Roberta's recipes include linguine with sea urchin and chilli, duck ragu, and a tasty-looking fried chicken dish.

Yes, they all look so amazing and delicious, you'll promise to start making your own pasta... one day. But sea urchins? Er, not exactly an 'easy-to-shop for' ingredient.

Perhaps it's best to stick to the 'American Nightmare' - a Grand Marnier-based cocktail which Gwyneth tells us, "goes down a little too easy."
