If Jennifer Lawrence is anything, it's outspoken. And it seems that's the case even if it means giving her co-stars a big old backhanded compliment.
American Hustle director, David O. Russell, has revealed that despite her laugh out loud performance in the Golden Globe nominated flick, there were scenes that J-law found it hard to follow through with. Namely the ones that involved kissing Christian Bale.
Jen was clearly a fan of Christian's when he played superhero Batman in The Dark Knight Rises, so it seems she was a little disappointed with the actor's makeover for Hustle. Speaking toUs Weekly magazine, David recalled her saying on set: "'I finally get to make out with Christian Bale and he's a really fat guy.'"
She jested: "He's Fatman, not Batman."
Christian plays fast-talking con-man, Irving Rosenfeld, in the movie, and as well as a rather curious combover, he also gained considerable weight to show off the pot belly Jen referred to.
Meanwhile, Jen plays his neurotic, loud-mouthed wife so convincingly you'd never of guessed she wasn't wild about kissing him.
And as director David puts it: "The shocking thing is that Christian can charm ladies even with the comb over and the belly because it comes from confidence and heart."
It's clear however, that Ms Lawrence has found a man totally to her taste in former co-star Nicholas Hoult. The pair worked together on the X-Men franchise, and David was overheard by Us Weekly commenting that: "Nick's good for her. He keeps her calm."
We wonder if Brit star Nick will be there to hold Jen's hand at the Golden Globes tonight?
