Okay, we're pretty sure we weren't alone in thinking Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were one of those couples who'd last five minutes.
They met while filming The Rum Diary, have been insanely private since they started dating and let's be honest, the whole thing had a strong whiff of showmance/midlife crisis about it.
But now, rumour has it the pair are engaged. A sparkler is said to be resident on Heard's ring finger and a source told E! News that when the star got papped leaving a restaurant in LA "she was doing everything to hide her hand."
They added: "The actress also waited for the valet driver to open her car door for her, seemingly so as not to have to expose her hand for an extra second."
So, could Depp, 50, be about to walk down the aisle with the 27-year-old? We can't help but feel snarky about all this because we loved Vanessa Paradis so much. She's like crack for girls like us who just want to be Parisian.
Also, is Johnny Depp really one of those men who can't handle a woman his own age?
Irrationally, it feels like when your parents split up and your dad brings home someone new. If this engagement is genuine, we'll probably end up doing a bit of this...
