Pop star Leona Lewis has waded in to the twerking debate (yes, there really is one) and said that it is our responsibility to stop our kids from doing it.

Leona, who is god mother to her best friend's baby, said she is totally unfazed by telling her friends with kids to stop their little ones from copying the raunchy dance moves so favoured by Miley Cyrus and Rihanna.

"When my little god daughter is watching videos and doing all these moves, I say to my best friend 'you need to turn that off'," she explained. "So it's up to the parents as well to be able to control what their children are watching. It's like, 'don't twerk, you're a six year old. Stop it.'"

Leona, 28, told the Mirror she is also mindful about her young fans when choreographing her own music videos and routines.

"It depends what environment you're brought up in," she said. "But personally I've got a god-daughter and little nieces and I don't want them to see me acting crazy and naked in my music videos."

We LIKE her.
