Satoshi Kanazawa, a psychologist at the London School Of Economics And Political Science, said in a report for the publication that IQ average and sleeping patterns are most definitely related. And that night owls are more likely to be cleverer than those who hit the sack early doors.
His analysis goes back to ancient times, when primitive humans rose and fell with the sun. According to Kanazawa, average brains are conditioned to follow this sleep pattern, while the more inquisitive, intellectual ones want to defy that pattern and create their own.
What's more you can pretty much assess your IQ by your bed time...
Not very intelligent... at all (IQ is less than 75)
Weekday: 11:41 pm
Weekend: 12:35 am
Standard (IQ is between 90 and 110)
Weekday: 12:10 am
Weekend: 1:13 am
Really darn clever (IQ is more than 125)
Weekday: 12:29 am
Weekend: 1:44 am
So the next time you find yourself in bed by 11:40, maybe you should stay up for an extra half hour just to prove you're slightly more intelligent.
Another thing that improves your IQ? Kindness...
