Marios Schwab'sAutumn/Winter 2014 catwalk collection proved classic colourways and style staples can still be feminine and romantic.
Black leather jackets with fur trim, mini asymmetric leather skirts and sexy mid-heel sling-backs were championed. As was the little black dress, complete with pinafore buckle strap detailing.
Schwab layered several looks - said LBDs were worn over floaty chiffon dresses to harden up anything that erred towards ethereal.
For ladies planning to play A/W sophisticated a la Schwab (clue: you're not one for slogans) then here's a few things to note from the show...
1. Invest in a good leather skirt and sling-back combo. Leather is forever, for all women, of all ages. The subtle heel is the secret to making the look elegant over edgy.
2. Opt for a fur choker or a chiffon neck-scarf with floor length train. The lady is a vamp.
3. A crisp white shirt with flared collar detailing will transport you from 9am - 5pm office chic to (teamed with a metallic sling-back) cocktail o'clock.
4. Accessories are minimal and practical, over the shoulder bags are tasseled.
