Lupita Nyong'o Covers Dazed &Amp; Confused's Girls Rule The World Issue

Lupita Nyong'o is our latest leading lady in life. Not only did she blow us away with an epic Golden Globe nominated performance in 12 Years A Slave but she'sDazed & Confused magazine's flawless February cover girl.

The mag's "Girls Rule the World" issue couldn't have a better star because Nyong'o is set to storm the fashion, film and beauty scene (she's the face of Miu Miu's SS14 campaign). Starting now.

In the shoot by Sharif Hamza, 30 year-old Nyong'o wears an array of bold, bright, jewel-embellished pieces by Prada and styled by Robbie Spencer. Think Kenyan vibe, think standout and completely stunning.

In her interview with the magazine, the Kenyan actress chats about her role in Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave as well as modelling her character on Michael Jackson.

"There's something very Michael Jackson-like about Patsey – the childlike quality he always had. She had her childhood stripped away from her suddenly as soon as she became of sexual age," she said.

As for early career inspiration, Nyong'o tells the magazine: "The first time I thought I could be an actor was seeing The Color Purple. Whoopi Goldberg looked like me, she had hair like mine, she was dark like me."

Despite huge success Nyong'o remains pretty grounded, she even shared the cover shot with her 52,000 on Instagram followers with the caption:

"Proud to be on the cover of Dazed & Confused Feb 2014 issue. First UK magazine cover!! #DazedAndConfused"
