Mary-Kate Olsen's Engagement Ring Is Huge

If you haven't heard the news Mary-Kate Olsen is engaged to her long-term boyfriend Olivier Sarkozy (aka the half-brother of Nicolas Sarkozy, former President of France) and what's more, her engagement ring is absolutely freakin' huge!

While the couple have yet to officially confirm their engagement, Mary-Kate was spotted out and about in New York City with her sister Ashley sporting a rather large diamond ring on her wedding finger.

The massive ring is vintage Cartier from 1953. It was purchased at a jewellery auction at Sotheby's, according to Style Caster. While the ring was originally estimated to fetch between $40,000 and $60,000, it finally sold for $81,250.

The rock is totally gorgeous and utterly enormous but it's no way near as pricey as Kim Kardashian's engagement ring from Kanye West, a cushion-cut diamond ring created by Lorraine Schwartz that's estimated to be worth upwards of $8 million! #MindBlown.

Mary-Kate, 27, and Olivier who is 17 years her senior at 44, currently live together in New York and have been dating for two years. Once hitched Mary-Kate will become stepmother to Olivier's two children, Julien, 12, and Margo, 10, from his first marriage to fashion journalist Charlotte Bernard.

While us mere mortals can only dream of a rock that huge, it hasn't stopped us shopping around for that engagement bling of our dreams...
