Paris Couture Week: Atelier Versace Autumn/Winter 2014

Atelier Versace's Autumn/Winter 2014 collection showcased an array of stunningly voluminous duchess satin ball gowns complete with waist-high split, off-the-shoulder detailing and vinyl fringing in Paris on Sunday.

The dresses were classic and completely dramatic but with a contemporary edge that was signature Versace - these dresses were deconstructed and all about the reveal.

It wasn't just the Swarovski mesh layering or belted-buckle corsets that turned heads either. This Autumn/Winter 2014 collection was all about the one-legged trouser dresses aka the 'tress.'

And who better to model the look ahead of the catwalk than Jennifer Lopez? It was J-Lo who made an entrance to last night's show in a killer white 'tress' complete with sequin trouser leg. Yes, Jenny from the block is the perfect poster girl for the trend.

The collection coveted purple and monochrome, along with dusty pinks and royal blues.

For ladies not wooed by the OTT dresses, there were sharp tailored two-pieces (cocoon jackets and matching trousers) and asymmetric jumpsuits too. The belted skirts and extravagant faux furs were just as statement-making.

This Autumn/Winter 2014 show was fabulous on every level - there was stylish sophistication (fitted high-neck jumpers and knee-high boots), dreamy occasion wear and wearable pieces that really do work beyond the runway.

It has to be said, this is one of Donatella Versace's finest collections yet. Flamboyant, yes and utterly fabulous. J-Lo won't be the only celebrity lady doing head-to-toe Versace next season.

Don't miss all the highlights from the A/W 14 ready-to-wear Versace show...
